Wendy Sharnoff, LISW

Wendy Sharnoff, LISW, is a licensed social worker with over 30 years of clinical experience working in the mental health field, including both the public and private sector. She recently joined Midlands Psychiatry as a part-time employee after ten years of employment with USC Dept of Neuropsychiatry and Behavioral Science. Prior to working at USC, she was Senior Staff Therapist at United Behavioral Health Center from l989-1999.

A native of Baltimore, Md, Ms. Sharnoff started her college career at the University of Maryland. She completed her Bachelor's of Social Welfare from New Mexico State University, and her Master's Degree in Social Work from University of South Carolina in l979.

Ms. Sharnoff is very skilled in conducting biopsychosocial assessments of clients and provision of individual, marital and group therapy. Areas of special interest are: depression, women's issues, assertiveness training, cognitive behavioral therapy, relaxation training, and support groups.

She is a member of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT) and the National Association of Social Workers (NASW).
